I called and found out they are using Indaziflam [common brand names are Rejuvra (the formulation being used by MDOT for aerial spraying), Esplanade, Alion and Specticle]. Beyond Pesticides has produced the fact sheet on Indaziflam linked to below:

Hopefully, they're using indaziflam very selectively. The use of herbicides has a downside, especially if not used selectively, and development of resistance can be a serious problem. https://phys.org/news/2022-01-impact-preemergent-herbicides-native.html
