Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary Open This Weekend - Opportunities to Paint, Sip and See the Wolves!

Friday April 5, and Saturday April 6: The Sanctuary will open to Members Only at 10:00AM to meet and greet our two new gray wolves, a species with a dynamic history in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. They are named Pilot and Index (male and female), after two well-known peaks in the nearby Beartooth-Absarokee Mountains. If you’re not already a YWS member, you can purchase a membership online or buy one at our Gift Shop.
Saturday, April 6: Artist Janice Polzin will lead another of her popular “Wildlife Paint and Sip” workshops. Janice will guide participants in completing a painting of one of the Sanctuary’s resident animals. Supplies are provided with the fee for admission. Reserve your place online and do it soon!
Sunday, April 7: The Sanctuary will open to the general public. Admission that day will be $15/adult with discounts for children, seniors, and military.
For the rest of April: Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:00AM to 4:00PM, with regular admission fees.
Sundays in April: “I Serve Red Lodge!” Free Sanctuary visits for anyone who works in Red Lodge providing services and support for our local businesses. Our education team will lead special tours for these visitors from Noon to 2:00PM.
April 1 - 21: Our annual Earth Day Art Contest welcomes children’s artwork entries on the theme of helping wildlife. Drop off contest entries at the YWS entrance, then view all entries in our education building. Please check our website for contest rules and encourage all the youngsters to participate!
Sunday, April 21: Join us for our annual Earth Day Speaker Series, 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Wildlife and conservation professionals will talk about what wildlife populations need to thrive, explain how you can help, and answer your most challenging questions.
Beginning May 1: We return to summer hours, open every day except Tuesday, 10:00AM to 4:00PM.
