The following was released this morning by the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office:
On September 29, 2023 members of the United States Marshals, Montana Violent Offenders Task Force (MVOTF) arrested a fugitive in the Cooney, North Shore area. The MVOTF is made up of Deputy Marshals and local Law Enforcement partners including members of Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and Red Lodge Police Department. A Deputy Marshal was actively working a case on the male for a warrant out of Cascade County, Montana for assault on a minor. They gained information that he was possibly at a residence in the Cooney area and reached out to the Sheriff’s Office Task Force Officer. Within 45 minutes the suspect’s vehicle was located at a residence off of North Shore. With the assistance of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, MVOTF was able to take the male into custody without incident.
