Victim of Fatal Accident Near Rockvale Identified

UPDATE: Jess Hoferer of Joliet has been identified as the man who died in the two vehicle crash on August 23 at the intersection of Magnum Lane and Mary's Lane.  

A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, taking the life of a 60 year old Joliet man.

A Ford F250 truck driven by a 37 year old Billings man was traveling east on Marys Lane as a Honda Rancher ATV driven by the Joliet man was traveling south on Magnum Lane. The truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the front right side of the ATV with the front driver’s side of the truck. The Ford drove off the right side of the road and came to rest in the ditch. The Honda was dragged by the Ford for a short distance and then came to rest on the road on Mary’s Lane. The driver of the Honda died at the scene.
