The Billings office of the National Weather Service predicts heavy snow will begin to affect the Beartooth/Absaroka and Crazy Mountains this weekend and will affect the area through Wednesday. “The greatest snowfall amounts will occur on west and southwest-facing slopes, including the mountains around Cooke City. Lower elevations will see some snow behind a cold front tonight and Sunday. Plan accordingly if you will be traveling or venturing outdoors.”
Snowfall in the Beartooth-Absaroka Mountains is anticipated to be particularly heavy, with total amounts expected to range from 2 to 4 FEET. Several inches of snow will fall at lower elevations, especially west of Rosebud County where at least 8 inches of accumulation is expected.
