The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner L&J Construction Group will begin bridge rehabilitation activities on the Rock Creek Bridge, located about 1 mile west of Joliet at mile marker 94.4, beginning the week of April 7. Work is currently scheduled to last through July.
Crews will complete repairs to the bridge structure, replace bridge approaches, mill and pave the existing roadway, applying a new overlay and crack seal, and upgrading pavement markings, signage, rumble strips, and guardrail. The purpose of this project is to enhance roadway safety features and extend the service life of the bridge.
Traffic control will be in place for the duration of the project. Travelers can expect reduced speeds and an alternating one-way traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals.
All work is dependent on weather and other unforeseen factors.
The public is encouraged to contact Public Involvement Specialist Natalee Stout at 406-444-6021 with any comments or questions.
