Red Flag Warning Issued

The Billings Office of the National Weather Service announced this morning that a Red Flag Warning has been issued for much of south central Montana, a portion of southeast Montana, and the lower elevations of Sheridan County, Wyoming. The warning is in effect today from 9:00 AM MDT to 8:00 PM MDT.
Temperatures will be in the mid 80s to mid 90s.
Minimum relative humidity percentage will drop to the lower teens.
Winds will be 10-20 mph and gust to 20-35 mph, strongest in the western foothills.
Winds will also change direction: westerly this morning, then northwesterly late this afternoon.
Isolated dry thunderstorms are possible (20% chance) in areas southeast of Billings and in southeast Montana this afternoon into early this evening. Potential hazards from the storms are lightning and strong, erratic wind gusts to 50 mph.
Conditions will improve overnight as winds decrease.
