Wednesday, a cold front will pass through the region bringing a major pattern shift across the region for the foreseeable future.
Prolonged period of cold expected. Thursday through the weekend there is a >90% chance of meeting advisory level wind chills (-20F) across the region.
Rapid cooldown will bring concerns for ice jams as rivers and streams ice up.
Strong winds across the region Tuesday
Winds across the region will pick up in the morning with winds gusting into the 20s and 30s mph over the plains. Winds will be stronger in western gap areas with Livingston seeing a 50% chance of getting advisory level winds (58mph).
Prolonged light snow chances
Tuesday through Saturday will see continued light snow chances across the region.
