Mass Casualty EXERCISE 5:00 Today at Carbon County Fairgrounds
Carbon County Dispatch, Joliet EMS, RLFR and Beartooth Billings Clinic are training together
Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch announced today that at approximately 5:00 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, October 11, Red Lodge Fire Rescue, Joliet EMS, Beartooth Billings Clinic and Carbon County Dispatch will be conducting a joint Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Exercise at the Carbon County Fairgrounds in Red Lodge. This exercise should not affect the public, although there will be more traffic in the area of the fairgrounds and rodeo grounds. All involved agencies will still be open and available for typical operations.
A Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) is any call for service in which the number patients exceeds the initial available resources. These types of calls involve coordination between multiple agencies and practice can help identify areas of success as well as things to work on. Carbon County Dispatch stated that it is “excited about the opportunity to work together and learn”.
