Saturday, February 22
10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary
615 2nd Street East
Red Lodge
Space is limited to 30 people!
At 10:00 am, Chase McCafferty, Montana Audubon Center program director, and Victoria Bostrom, YWS education manager, will lead our group on a tour of the Sanctuary’s resident birds and talk about bird-watching and Red Lodge’s winter flocks.
At 11:00 am, Randy Dragon and Don Redfoot will present their stunning photography and videos of birds in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Both Red Lodge retirees, Randy and Don enjoy photography as a way to explore our unique and fascinating region: from Malta in the north to the Grand Tetons in the south, from Bridger and the Elk Basin in the east to Yellowstone National Park in the west. Their remarkable photographic work explores migration patterns, courtship and mating, nesting, and child rearing. Species include greater sandhill cranes, great blue herons, bald eagles, harlequin ducks, spotted sandpipers, and bobolinks.
The morning will conclude with a wrap-up and information swap led by Montana Audubon.
This event is FREE to YWS members, Audubon members, and all veterans. Thanks to First Interstate Bank for graciously sponsoring this event so our veterans can enjoy this wildlife experience.
For all others, there will be a $12 regular admission.
Whether your interest is bird life, the GYE, photography/video, or all of the above, you’ll enjoy a fascinating and information-packed morning. Reserve your spot now!
