Montana Independent News posed the same four questions to all candidates in the United States Representative race in District 2. Republican Kyle Austin’s views are presented in their entirety below.
What are the Montana values that will guide your decision-making?
Montana values such as dignity, respect, integrity, innovation, and love for Montana will guide me in making decisions as Montana’s United States Congressman.
What skills, knowledge and experience do you possess that make you the better candidate?
I like to consider myself a maverick! Just like many Montanan’s, I was born and raised right here in the great state of Montana. I was raised on a farm and have agricultural experience. I am a pharmacist with knowledge of our healthcare industry, I am a successful small business owner, I am a pilot who understands aviation and most of all, I am very familiar with eastern Montana and what needs to be done to create economic stability.
What are your top priorities to address during your term if you are elected?
As Montana’s next congressman, my top priority’s would be to eliminate wasteful government spending, consolidate and eliminate unnecessary government programs, encourage expiration dates on laws, overhaul our healthcare system to be efficient and cost effective for all Americans and veterans, bring economic stability to small communities in our state, and most of all, be a leader in Washington DC.
What legislative language would you propose or support to address those priorities?
Before addressing my priorities, it will be my first agenda to get Washington and America re-united. Americans need to stop being divided in our country and bring back leadership, dignity, and respect in our government and those who represent it. When America unites together, America can be strong and do great things. “UNITED WE STAND, UNITED WE CAN”.
