A house fire in Edgar was reported to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 8:01 this morning. The Worden family, two adults and six children ages 7 to 19, lived in the house, which is a total loss. No one was inside when the fire started and there were no injuries. The cause appears to be accidental. One of their dogs is still missing. Athena is a 14 year old husky, her photo is below. Fire departments from Edgar, Fromberg, Joliet and Bridger responded. Bridger EMS, Carbon County Sheriff's Office and Bridger PD also responded.
Red Cross has been notified and is assisting the family.
The Edgar Bar is hosting a Community Night to benefit the Worden family this Thursday, January 18, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a pot roast dinner, drinks and a raffle. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to the family. Any donations (cash, clothes, gift cards, etc.) can be dropped off at the Edgar Bar in Edgar or at Bistro Enzo’s in Billings.
