Chance for Blowing Snow Tuesday Evening Through Wednesday Morning
Allow yourself extra time to get to your destination and extra space between vehicles
By Denise Rivette
The Billings office of the National Weather Service warned this morning of gusty west to southwest winds from late Tuesday into Wednesday morning that have the potential to create impactful blowing and drifting snow for areas west of Billings. “How impactful the blowing snow threat gets will depend on whether warmer temperatures can crust over the snowpack. Rural roads and portions of I-90 west of Columbus stand to see the highest impacts should more widespread blowing snow develop. Stay tuned to the forecast over the next 36 hours for updates.”
As you can see in the above graphic, most of the northern portions of Carbon and Stillwater counties are expected to be impacted. If you must be out on the roads, give yourself extra time to get to your destination and leave extra space between your vehicle and others.
