Carbon County Slate of Candidates Set For November

The window for candidates to file to run for open offices in Carbon County in November closed on June 19.
One notable absence from the roster is the current Mayor of Red Lodge, Kristen Cogswell. An email asking her what she plans to accomplish in the remainder of her term and what she would like her administration to be remembered for went unanswered.
The candidates on the November 7, 2023, ballot are set to be:
Bearcreek
Mayor (4 year term) - Debbie Duncan Surwill
City Council (4 year term, 2 openings) – Harold L. Jenkings and Danell Boos
Bridger
Mayor (2 year term) – Mark DeRudder
City Council (4 year term, 2 openings) – Dustin Taylor and Clifford Schultz
Fromberg
City Council (4 year term, 2 openings) – No one has filed to fill these positions
Joliet
Mayor (2 year term) – Dakota Zachariah Mitchem
City Council (4 year term, 2 openings) – Linda Coughlin and Bonnie J. Gray
Red Lodge
Mayor (2 year term) – Bill Barnes and Dave Westwood
City Council – Ward 1 (2 year term, 1 opening) – Lee Stevens, Doug Miller and Chelsea Toupin
