February 19
A man reported that he and his wife were receiving threats from a man out of county. RLPD officer took a report and provided the man with the appropriate agency’s contact information so that he can obtain a protection order through them.
Deputies responded to a disturbance, determined to be only verbal. Parties separated for the evening.
February 20
A resident who was currently out of the country got notified that her house’s door was open. She then called to ask a deputy to check it out. Upon inspection, it was discovered that her neighbor had gone in to check the house after noticing a water issue. It was confirmed that a pipe had burst and filled the entire crawl space and some of the house, enough that it was pouring out of the main level’s doors.
February 21
A deputy searched for a female suspect after a report of her breaking into a car came in. Contact was made with the female who explained the situation.
A woman heard a noise in her yard and asked if someone could check it out. She then advised that she heard the noise for the last several nights, but has been too scared to even look out her window at what could be making the noise.
Spot fires in a borrow ditch along the road were doused by fire crews from Joliet, Fromberg, and Edgar.
February 22
Deputies, MHP, and Joliet EMS responded to a collision involving a vehicle’s airbags being deployed. Both drivers were cleared by medical with no transport, and a tow responded.

Callers were advised that their matter was a civil one after they claimed that all their personal belongings had been stolen from a friend with whom they were supposedly purchasing a house.
February 23
A deputy spoke to a man who reported that $20,000 in bitcoin had been stolen from him after he granted remote computer access to whom he later discovered to be a scammer.
A couple reported being threatened with a gun as they attempted to gather their belongings. A deputy attempted several times to contact and meet the couple, but they refused help, stating it was too dark outside now.
February 24
RLPD officer heard screaming coming from a vehicle that was traveling past a roundabout at careless speeds. He pulled it over and discovered it was just juveniles causing a scene. They were issued a warning to slow down in the traffic circle.
A woman went over to her neighbor’s house to relay her minority report, believing that the neighbor’s dog would jump through its screen door to attack her. Upon arrival, she claimed that she was promptly sprayed in the face by something. RLPD officer responded and interviewed both females involved. They were both issued warnings, told to leave each other alone, that the dog has done nothing wrong, and this is considered a civil matter with their mutual landlord. Later, other RLPD officers were called back to a disturbance regarding the women, the screen door, and the dog.
A deputy and RLPD officers attempted to located a man who claimed to be having medical issues but gave a bad address to an out-of-county agency. Eventually he was located by RLPD, he was intoxicated and wanted a ride to someone’s residence. He was not welcome there, and opted to get a courtesy ride to his fiancé’s house instead.
February 25
Deputy investigated after a report of someone lying on the ground next to their vehicle near the bridge in Joliet. Deputy spoke with the individuals fishing there, and one admitted he had tripped and fallen outside his truck which was when the other vehicle passed by.
A welfare check was requested by a number of people after a Facebook post sounded like an intention of self-harm. The individual was contacted by RLPD and was in the company of friends for the night who stated they would make sure that she was safe.
