A toddler boy grabbed the family dog’s leash and simply followed it wherever it went. The dog led the child along a highway where Deputies and MHP checked on him. He was okay and was returned to his guardians.
A Deputy took a report in regard to an ongoing issue over neighbors being an extreme nuisance by continuing to harass the neighborhood dwellers.
A woman friended someone on Facebook, and viruses were immediately installed on her computer. The new “friend” was then demanding money to remove the viruses. The woman did not comply and sought out help from a Deputy who directed her to a fraud hot line thereafter.
SAR, Red Lodge Fire, and County law units assisted in a search for a man that purposefully ventured into the mountains to do “mountain man stuff”. After a couple of days, he was located and willingly came back into civilization.
October 10, 2023
RLPD Chief arrested and cited two men with assault after they got into an altercation. The fight was started after one man demanded that the other man should clean up his dog’s urine on the side of a walking trail.
A late afternoon traffic complaint was called in on a vehicle that was swerving all over the road. County units located the vehicle and pulled it over, discovering the male driver to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested, cited, and released to a family member who came to pick him up.

A Deputy, MHP and Laurel EMS assisted in a two-vehicle collision with minor injuries near Rockvale.
A caller was informed that it was not illegal to be made to feel uncomfortable after she called in a homeless man sleeping in a park.
RLPD Officer investigating a resident that is willfully feeding raccoons after a neighbor called in that her dog was being attacked by the raccoons.

A female driver slid off the road due to the mud, pinning her truck against a fence. She crawled out a rear door and upon exiting, the door shut. Her dogs and keys were locked inside while she walked into cell service to call for a tow truck.

A mail delivery worker called 911 to report that a local was yelling at him and calling him names for parking on the local’s property in order to give them their mail. The worker only wanted this incident to be on record, and was also provided the admin phone line as this was not an emergency.
A resident called 911 to ask law enforcement to come to his residence. He requested that an officer would come turn on their unit’s sirens to scare a moose and her two calves away from his house.

A Deputy searched for a vehicle that a caller reported to be involved in suspicious activity, with a possibly intoxicated driver. The Deputy was unable to locate after several attempts over the hours.
Deputies arrested and transported a man to YCDF on charges of PFMA toward his spouse.
October 15, 2023
In the early hours of the morning, Dispatch received different reports of a loud, out-of-hand party at an AirBnB with a man screaming in the front lawn. RLPD Sergeant, with assistance from a Deputy, sorted out the situation. One man was arrested and taken to jail on PFMA, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
