March 4
Multiple fire units from Joliet were dispatched to a possible structure fire. It was determined that there was an active burn permit in that area, and Joliet Fire determined that it was a controlled burn.
A welfare check was requested by an out of town lawyer who could not reach his client who was a victim of domestic abuse. The individual did not make it to their meeting and did not call to advise of such. The individual was located and found to be fine.
March 5
A caller requested a welfare check when her spouse could not be located, and she could not reach him by phone. The spouse was located staying with family, doing well, just needed a break.
Billings PD arrested an individual who had a local warrant for failing to appear in court after being cited for driving while license was suspended. The individual was incarcerated, awaiting being seen by local court.
March 6
RLPD was advised of a fender bender on Broadway. The vehicle owners exchanged insurance information, and a report was taken by PD.
A busy day in court ended with a bevy of civil processes being served by Deputies.
March 7
A local church pressed charges when a service that they hired defrauded them out of a significant amount of money. Investigation is on-going.
A frustrated caller advised that his brother has been using his identification when he has dealings with law enforcement or the court system. The identification of each was verified, the correct sibling had all matters attached to him, and inquiring minds are curious if either will move to Philadelphia.
March 8
Deputies in route to assist and MHP Trooper were called on to respond more urgently when the driver fled the traffic stop and engaged law enforcement in a high-speed pursuit. The fleeing vehicle did pull over a number of miles down the road where the CCSO K-9 was deployed to check the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the driver incarcerated on felony charges. An investigation into further charges in underway.
911 was called when a male bar patron struck a female patron with a bar glass at a local drinking establishment. Bystanders were able to prevent the male from fleeing the scene as law enforcement rushed to the incident. The victim was checked out by EMS and the suspect was incarcerated at Yellowstone County Detention Facility on felony charges.
March 9
EMS treated and transported a despondent individual to Billings Clinic for evaluation and treatment.
RLPD arrested a local on several warrants out of Billings. The suspect who has a history with RLPD was arrested without incident and transported to Yellowstone County Detention Facility.
March 10
RLPD Sergeant, BBC, and Red Lodge EMS all dealt with a male who initially refused treatment at BBC and became verbally abusive. The subject exited the hospital, was almost struck as he crossed the highway on foot, and collapsed and passed out in the ditch. The male received several citations and was returned to BBC for treatment when it was found that he was almost 4 times over the legal limit for intoxication. He was given a courtesy ride back to his B&B after he was treated and released from BBC.
A spectator at the rodeo grounds called CCSO after waiting an hour for a tow truck to respond and finding that her credit card had been charged. Caller advised that “All Track Towing” had said after the long delay that their vehicle had broken down. The caller was advised that she had been scammed, as there is no company with that name in Red Lodge, and the address given on their website is fictitious. She was directed to address the fraud with her credit card company.
