June 23
A worried father asked for assistance in locating his intoxicated son. The son went to his father’s house, but left before the father could make it to the door, despite being told through the doorbell camera system to wait just a minute. He was eventually located safe at his own apartment later that morning.
June 24
A deputy spoke to the parents of a young boy who was reported to be on a bicycle ride on the highway just after dark. The parents were unaware that he had left and assured that it wouldn’t happen again. They boy was released to his parents.
June 25
Someone complained about a suspicious vehicle parked on the wrong side of a highway, claiming that the driver was slumped over the wheel. A deputy checked on it and found the driver was simply working on his laptop in an area with the best cell coverage, as he was an employee working on the cell tower.
An uncooperative father and son arguing with each other after calling 911 ended up with deputies responding to sort the situation out. One of the men was arrested for Partner Family Member Assault (PFMA) and taken to Yellowstone County Detention Facility (YCDF).
June 26
A pair of kayakers fell in Beartooth Lake. One of them made it to shore while the other was still in the lake. Dispatch notified the appropriate agency, Park County in Wyoming, to assist by sending out their Search and Rescue. In the end, the calls for service were canceled after both kayakers made it out safely.
June 28
A lightning strike started a fire near a creek. Luckily due to heavy rain that accompanied the storm, the fire was put out before Joliet Fire had to utilize many resources.
Laurel PD arrested a male for PFMA and was able to serve a years-old Bridger City warrant on the male suspect at the same time when they booked him into YCDF.
June 29
RLPD issued citations for Disorderly Conduct, Partner Family Member Assault, and Minor in Possession to a juvenile after she drunkenly attacked her younger brother. She was released into the care of a guardian.
A herd of goats got loose and began wandering around Fromberg. Their last known location was “running toward the church”. A deputy arrived on scene some time later, but found no trace of the goats.
A man got into a dirt bike wreck and sustained injuries. He had difficulty breathing and believed he had a broken collar bone and ribs. Deputies coordinated Bridger EMS and Help Flight to assist. He was life-flighted to Billings.
An adult female got into a 4-wheeler accident. Dispatch worked with Bighorn County in Wyoming to have them assist Carbon County with getting the female a flight out to a hospital.
A group of seven walked out on their drink tab after waiting for over an hour for their food after they had ordered. The restaurant owner was mad that they left, and asked for RLPD to find them and make them pay their entire tab, which included the food they never received. The owner claimed that they were about to be served, but had just left. RLPD officer found the cooperative group at an establishment down the street and sorted the situation out. The group agreed to pay their 20-some dollar drink tab, but refused to pay for food that they waiting in vain for.
