March 18
A deputy explained to a man who was complaining that people were shooting guns on BLM land that it was not illegal to do so, but to let law enforcement know if he had any proof that anyone was shooting guns in an unsafe manner.
Bridger sergeant helped rescue a dog that was stuck down an embankment, and then released it to a woman who agreed to watch the dog for the time being.
Dispatch received a report of a couple stuck in the snow in the Pryor Mountains. A forest service ranger was on their way to assist when dispatch got another call from the stranded couple that they had made it out and are safe.
March 19
A man who got into a fight behind a bar spoke to RLPD about one of the people in the fight stealing his phone after the man lost it in the scuffle.
911s came in about a two-vehicle collision on the highway. Red Lodge EMS and Fire were paged out right away to control traffic and treat the luckily minor injuries that were involved. County units, RLPD, and MHP processed the scene. One of the drivers was arrested for DUI by MHP and one of the vehicles had to be towed.
Two men were interviewed by a deputy regarding their dispute and mirrored threats made by the other. A buyer gave money to hold two cars that the other man was selling. The buyer changed his mind some time later and asked for the money back, but the seller allegedly told him it was non-refundable and then threatened him. Meanwhile the seller claimed the buyer had threatened him if the buyer didn’t get his deposit back. The deputy found both threat claims to be unprovable and advised them they will have to go through the courts regarding the deposit.
March 20
The cavalry was sent out to a vehicle crash, but upon the first unit’s arrival it was found to have an uninjured driver after experiencing a very slow rollover. Fire and EMS still responded per protocol, and County Road Department was notified of the downed road sign.
A concerned, female medical professional called to speak with an RLPD officer about possible fraud. A man claiming to be with DEA called her and claimed that she is going to be arrested after her license was used in a drug bust in Texas. The officer investigated and then advised the proper agency of the fraud.
A woman who has a protection order against a man made law enforcement aware that he was violating the order by riding his bike in front of her house and harassing her via text. A deputy found the man and he was arrested and taken to YCDF.
Two deputies investigated what happened to a power pole after finding it snapped in half with wires on the ground. A utility company was called to repair the pole in the middle of the night.
March 21
RLPD officer checked on a jeep after a neighbor called it in as being parked facing the wrong way for quite some time. It was discovered to belong to a couple who were staying in an AirBnB for their honeymoon. They were issued a warning for the parking offense.
A man wanted a deputy to call him about his options with his children as his wife just got out of prison and he is worried about her taking the kids. He was advised to go through the family court for a parenting plan.
March 22
A female who was upset accused the post office of doing something she didn’t like and caused a disruption in the busy line. RLPD got the report from someone who was there, found the female at home and hand delivered her a citation for disorderly conduct.
Patrons at a laundromat called in a complaint of a man clearly under the influence of something who was harassing them and beating up the laundry machines. Bridger PD officer and assisting deputies found the man who had since left the building. He was found to have been driving under the influence and was uncooperative upon his arrest. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw after the judge signed the warrant. The man’s family members helped with his vehicle and getting him home safely after the blood draw.
March 23
A trailer in the parking lot of Red Lodge Mountain caught on fire after a propane tank inside exploded. A county deputy and Red Lodge Fire and EMS responded to assist, but luckily there were no injuries or additional fire damage.
March 24
A few calls came in regarding accidents occurring due to the very slick roads, including a damaged slide-off, rollover, and collision. Deputies and different Fire and EMS agencies throughout the county were kept busy responding.
