RLPD initiated a traffic stop and found drugs to be in the vehicle after the driver consented to the search. They were seized and citations were issued.
MHP arrested a driver for DUI, and after requesting RLPD’s help, the driver was taken to the hospital for a blood draw. He was issued citations and released.
June 4
A man took a hard fall, causing his apple watch to call 911. The dispatcher attempted to get information but was not able to get much out of the man, especially when he would not answer the phone when dispatch attempted to call back. Deputies were dispatched and RLPD was also asked to respond as they were closer. The male was found okay but with a laceration above his eyebrow. RL EMS checked the male out, but he refused a ride to a hospital.
A car got stuck in mud along a slope on a back road and needed to be winched out before it got too dark and cold. They called AAA for help but were told that area was unserviceable by them. Dispatch was able to put them in contact with a local tow company who was able to assist them.
June 5

An ongoing dispute between two females expanded to claims of family and workplaces being harassed. RLPD looked into the matter and told one of them to stop spreading rumors and to stop communicating with the other. The other was advised to maintain evidence but to not reply to any contact that may be made in the future and to stay away from them in the future if possible.
June 6
An upset man called after he became mad that a “million dollar” large boat was causing too big of waves at Cooney, claiming that this was unsafe and was going to cost him money. FWP was notified.
June 7
A female patient broke or severely injured her leg and wrist. Search and Rescue was paged out to the bottom of the ski run in the Beartooths where she was reported to be located. Help Flight was cancelled after people were able to help her closer to the road and RL EMS was able to give her a ride to a hospital.
The Renaissance Fair seemed to have gone much smoother than the prior year due to having appropriate parking attendant personnel, although the town and highways still were inundated with heavy traffic and delays were still present. The days-long event held enjoyable weather, no catastrophes happened, and the general report was that a merry time was had by the attendees.
A deputy processed a male driver for DUI and issued him citations while another deputy waited on scene for a sober driver to come collect all the passengers involved.
June 8
Someone called to complain that there was a group of people shooting prairie dogs and claimed they were all shooting in the direction of the road, despite admitting not hearing or seeing any gunfire. A FWP warden looked into the area and found the “violation” to be unfounded due to the hunters having permission to shoot there and were shooting in a safe direction. It was noted that the complainant had made a false report.
RLPD officer investigated a hit and run that occurred between two elderly men.
A deputy took a male to a hospital for evaluation after he became intoxicated and suicidal.
Deputies and FWP responded to a traffic complaint of a couple fighting and littering. The male party was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
CCSO, RLFR and Montana Air National Guard helicopters responded to the Rimrock Lake area for a male that was swept downstream after attempting to cross the river at the base of Rimrock Lake. His hiking partner was able to reach 911 through a Garmin device to report the incident. The search for the male is ongoing.
