August 5
RLPD chief reviewed CCTV footage of a white Ford pickup leave a parking lot immediately after it backed into someone’s trailer that had a motorcycle on it. A report has been taken of the damage.
A female in mental health crisis was provided a courtesy ride to crisis center in Billings.
August 6
A woman called 911 to report that her ex-boyfriend had just stolen her three dogs from her property. He was blowing her phone up with threats to kill the dogs, throw them out of his moving vehicle, and kill himself. A deputy arrived at her address and took the full report while an attempt to locate was sent to surrounding counties. Hours later, he showed back up at the house, dropped her dogs off at the end of her driveway and sped away. The male then sent multiple calls and emails to the deputy wondering why he was being charged with multiple felonies and requested in vain for the charges to be dropped.
A male was cited for disorderly conduct after verbal altercation with a Fromberg City worker.
RLPD officer stopped to assist a woman who appeared to have backed over a curb and was in the process of hooking up jumper cables to her bumper. The officer caught her when she fell into him after she stood up to acknowledge him. Another officer was called to assist, and he took her to the hospital to be checked out. Her vehicle was towed.
August 7
Red Lodge ambulances went up the Beartooth Pass to transport a couple of patients with broken limbs to a hospital after they were involved in a motorcycle crash.
A female requested a deputy to contact a male about sending her explicit photos.
August 8
A boy called 911 and hung up. At the same time, a RLPD officer was in the area of the caller and was flagged down by a girl outside. The girl’s boyfriend reportedly hit her little brother, who was the 911 caller. The boyfriend was arrested and, after his mother granted permission to RLPD to speak with him, was given a citation.
August 9
A deputy arrested a male driver for DUI, left the vehicle on the roadside, and processed him at the sheriff’s office. He was issued citations and given a courtesy ride to his home in Laurel.
RLPD officer arrested a driver for speeding and DUI. Driver was cited and given a courtesy ride to residence.
August 11
RLPD officers, with assistance from a deputy, handled a DUI hit and run. A warrant was issued for a blood draw, and the driver was processed and taken to YCDF.
RLPD, FWP, Deputies and RLEMS responded to a campground south of Red Lodge for a three year old female that had been bit by a bear through the tent she was sleeping in. Female was transported to a hospital for her injuries. The bear was later located and euthanized.
