A man called 911 on another man who was building a house next door on the outskirts of Red Lodge. The caller was upset that the man didn’t have his dog on a leash. When the caller went out to confront the man, he claimed the man became aggressive. RLPD sergeant arrived to sort the conflict out. In the end the caller was cited for his disorderly conduct and was issued a trespass warning from the new construction site.

May 29

A person called to report traffic delays due to vehicles slowing down behind persons travelling by horse drawn buggy, outside of Roberts. The caller was upset that it is an ongoing issue and puts other travelers at risk of collision when trying to pass. A deputy called the person back and advised of local traffic laws.
Regarding the horse-drawn buggies on the road, they are vehicles that are permitted by law to use the roadways. Motor vehicle drivers are asked to pass when it is safe. Where there is room for the buggies to drive on the shoulder they will. The sheriff has asked them to not partially move over so they are using half of a lane. Using half of a lane creates a more dangerous situation for everyone. Buggy drivers will pull over when it is safe.
Red Lodge fire responded to report of a camper trailer on fire. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire without injury, prior to the arrival of the fire department.
May 30
FWP was notified of two mountain lions seen on a game camera north of Red Lodge. Dispatch wants to remind everyone, be wildlife aware, maintain a safe distance from ALL wildlife (bears, mountain lions, moose, elk, and deer), and to report any aggressive or abnormal behaviors exhibited by wildlife.
A RLPD contacted two persons who witnessed a drone flying over their properties.
May 31
A woman who was visiting a friend reported that a male relative there was being rude and allegedly yelling at the friend. She was worried for her friend and asked for law enforcement to look into it. A Bridger PD officer was able to confirm that it was a verbal-only argument and that the male had left when he was asked to leave.
June 1
A mother reported her under 18-year-old daughter as a runaway after discovering she was blocked on everything and that the daughter had packed up and fled with a friend’s assistance. Dispatch took all pertinent info and a deputy advised Dispatch to send an Attempt to Locate message to surrounding counties, as well as enter her as a runaway juvenile in the national database.
A man who does not get along with his step-son’s girlfriend due to her verbal unpleasantness has told her not to come to his residence. However, she continued to do so. The man asked for a no trespass warning be issued to her so she stops showing up. A deputy made the female aware that she isn’t allowed to go to the man’s residence anymore.
