Friday, August 9, Carbon County Law Enforcement attempted to go 2 for 2 in the Second Annual Carbon County Guns vs. Hoses Softball Game. Carbon County Firefighters proved too hot for the Guns to handle and lived up to their team name as they hosed Law Enforcement 38-8.
Exemplifying the dedication and effort both teams devoted to the game, Red Lodge Police Sergeant Jordan Webb swung hard to hit a fly that resulted in bringing two members of his team home for 2 of the 8 points the Guns would score in the game. That swing gave new meaning to sacrifice fly as it also resulted in dislocating his knee. Fortunately, first responders were there to put his knee back in place. His teammates helped him off the field for a few yards before he walked the rest of the way unassisted. Committed to his team, he remained on the field as base coach for the rest of the game (see photos below).
Both teams played hard and had fun as well as showing the crowd a great time. Below are some scenes from the game.
See you next year!
