Carbon County EMS Thanks Community For Overwhelming Support
With funding in place, volunteers now greatest need
By Denise Rivette
The members of Carbon County EMS from around the county reached out today to express their gratitude for the great support the voters demonstrated when they approved the mill levy yesterday with 69% of the vote. The passing of this ballot initiative allows Red Lodge Fire and Rescue (RLFR), Joliet EMS, and Clarks Fork Valley EMS to continue to serve their communities with quality services.
Torsten Prahl, Assistant EMS Chief with RLFR, explained, “Funds will be used to improve equipment, response times, quality of services, and training into the future. More importantly, this mill levy not only provides funding, but the recognition that the residents of Carbon County appreciate the work that all three agencies and their volunteers provide. All three agencies will now be able to focus their efforts on improving their services without the worry of how to fund operations.”
While Red Lodge Fire and Rescue, Joliet EMS, and Clarks Fork Valley EMS thank the citizens of Carbon County for their support, funding is only one part of the solution to improving volunteer-based EMS. The other part is participation of community members in their Volunteer EMS service. Great news. Such an important part of our county community.
