CARBON COUNTY ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED!

This election cycle is gearing up to be an important one and you can strengthen democracy and help ensure fair elections by becoming an election judge in Carbon County.
According to the Montana Secretary of State website, “Across the nation, more than 1.4 million citizens are trained to serve as election judges. The job of election judge is critical to our democracy, as voters depend on election judges to run polling places and counting centers on Election Day.
As an election judge in Montana, you will help ensure the state’s elections remain secure, fair, accurate and accessible to all voters. Your responsibilities would be vast and include supervising the conduct inside polling places and helping Montanans cast their ballot both privately and independently.”

There are three requirements that must be met before becoming an election judge in Montana. The person:
Must be at least 18 years of age;
Must be a registered voter and a resident of the county where they will serve; and
Must attend training conducted by the county election administrator.
THREE FOR FREE IN FEBRUARY
Carbon County will be conducting free election judge training three times in February. Reservations are not required to attend, but are appreciated for planning purposes. Call 406-446-1220 to let them know you plan to attend or if you have any questions. Training consists of one four-hour session. The trainings will at the following times and locations:
