The Carbon County Commissioners and DES (Disaster and Emergency Services) Coordinator will host a Flood Recovery public meeting Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 6:30pm at the Fromberg School, 319 School Street in Fromberg. Those affected by the 2022 flood are invited to attend, ask questions and share concerns. The public can attend in person, virtually via GoTo Meeting at:

Flood recovery updates will be presented by local, state and federal agency representatives. Attendees will learn about recovery work to date and the work yet to be done during the last month of the debris removal contract. There will be a panel discussion on how the river debris removal process makes sense for river flow and how that may impact riverfront property. Following the panel discussion, residents can ask questions and share concerns regarding the process.
Joining the commissioners on the panel will be Carbon County and City of Red Lodge Floodplain Administrators, as well as officials from Carbon Conservation District (CCD), Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) and Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC). Other officials on hand include Town of Fromberg, City of Red Lodge, and Montana Departments of Transportation (MDT), Disaster and Emergency Services (DES), Environmental Quality (DEQ) and others.
