Busse Provides a Break from the News Cycle with Reflections on True Wealth
I’ve been keeping an eye on the news, but taking a breather from posting. As I took one last look at my emails before stepping away from the computer for the afternoon, Ryan Busse’s latest Montana Dispatch caught my eye.
Busse has written an essay from a hunter’s perspective about the riches we all own in the form of public lands that even animal lovers can enjoy reading. While my preference is to shoot wildlife with a camera, I appreciate the respect and understanding hunters have of their prey, the landscape, the ecology of their environment and their place in it. “Growing up rich” is enjoyable and uplifting, and I just felt the need to share it with you. You’ll encounter no politics and no descriptions of death or distress, just a love of this country, this state in particular, and the freedom we have to enjoy them. A freedom, like all freedoms, that needs to be defended.
Enjoy this short yet poignant read. I’ll be catching up on the news this evening and tomorrow.
Have a great afternoon,
