June is Bison Birthday Month at Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary! Our Bison Birthday Party is Saturday, June 29th. Join in as we celebrate Speedy’s 23rd birthday.
The day will be filled with activities for kids, special enrichment for the animals, and our annual Bison-Pie Bingo. YWS will have birthday cake for all guests. For those who are hungry, Samurai Sues Everyday Foods will be selling lunch.
Bison Bingo, a main attraction each year, will be at the bison enclosure at 11:00AM. Squares are $40 each. You may be the lucky winner whose square is where the bison drops its first "pie." To buy your bingo square, visit our gift shop or call 406-446-1133 and request your square!
Special Event Pricing
Event admission is $15.00 for Adults, $12.00 for seniors, military and first responders, $6.00 for children. Members have special discounts! $10.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Be sure to visit Pilot and Index, our two gray wolves.

10:15AM Dedication of Lee Kerns Sculpture of Speedy the Bison
(The Sculpture dedication will be at the entrance of the Sanctuary just after opening on Bison Birthday, June 29th. The sculpture is a creation of Lee Kerns of Red Lodge and is our beloved Speedy. The sculpture is placed at YWS in memory of William Wondra and provided through memorial gifts in his honor. See article about sculpture here.)
11:00AM Bison Pie Bingo
Squares can be purchased in advance by visiting the gift shop or calling the gift shop at 406-446-1133. Hurry, squares may sell out. Squares may also be purchased the day of the event, if still available. Squares are $40 each.
The event will take place at the bison enclosure promptly at 11:00AM. Don’t be late to see which square gets Speedy’s first “pie.” The winner takes home half of the dollars raised from square purchases.
11:00-3:00 Food and Fun
Join in the activities throughout the day. Stay for lunch, visit Samurai Sue to buy your lunch and enjoy YWS’ picnic area.
Watch for activities throughout the day including games and keeper talks. And, be sure to visit Pilot and Index, our new resident gray wolves.
Red Lodge Ales has donated cider and brews for the day. If you are legal age, look for the ice chest. Donations accepted.
