At 10:00 this morning the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) announced that the Beartooth Highway (US 212) is now OPEN on the Montana side of the pass to the Wyoming state line. They warn that road conditions are currently wet and to stay alert for changing conditions.
MDT crews make every effort to keep the road plowed and open, but due to the high elevation on this mountain pass, unpredictable weather conditions may cause temporary closures. Always check the MDT 511 map/app before traveling to know the current status of the highway on the Montana side: 511mt.net. Conditions can change quickly and with little notice.
