Press release from Senator Steve Daines’ office
U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines was recently awarded the “Pioneers for Prosperity” award by Americans For Prosperity – Montana (AFP).
The award honors distinguished lawmakers who were policy champions during the 118th Congress. AFP chose Senator Daines because of his leadership on the frontlines in Congress, advancing principles and policies that advance the conservative movement while proactively opposing harmful ideas that grow the size of government and take money out of taxpayers’ paychecks. As a “Pioneer for Prosperity” Daines stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working Montana families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with AFP’s grassroots communities in Montana.
“Americans for Prosperity is a champion for the conservative movement and has been leading the fight against the Biden-Harris administration’s dangerous economic policies. I am honored to receive the Pioneers for Prosperity Award, and I look forward to working with AFP in the future to fight for the values that make our country great,” Daines said.
“Senator Daines is a staunch ally of Montanans in Congress, and AFP is proud to present him with this 'Pioneers of Prosperity' award. Senator Daines has fought against the dangerous economic policies of the Biden-Harris administration that have caused a cost-of-living crisis in Montana. AFP appreciates his work in Congress and he deserves to be recognized for his principled leadership,” AFP-MT Deputy State Director Henry Kriegel said.
Americans for Prosperity is a right-wing group, backed by Koch Industries, that is against a variety of things important to Americans, such as the Affordable Care Act, clean air, clean water, and action on man-caused climate change, for starters. They should be called Americans for Prosperity for the Really Rich. If they honor a politician you know the politician is up to no good.
