The Montana Highway Patrol reported that an accident the night of July 6 south of Laurel on US-310 resulted in the death of a Park City man.
The roads were dry when a GMC Sierra driven by a 20-year-old Park City man was traveling northbound on US-310/US-212 as a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 29-year-old woman from Roberts was headed southbound in the northbound lane. The vehicles collided head-on at approximately 10:30 near milemarker 45 north of Rockvale. The Jeep continued south after the impact before rolling onto its roof. The GMC came to rest in the driving lane and shoulder of the highway. The driver of the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was transported to a Billings hospital.
Alcohol and speed are suspected contributing factors in this accident.
